On Monday 7th June we are having a group game ( 3 - 6 players)
for this Belgin and I have each drawn at 3 (300 point - one for each race) lists for players to use.

I imposed a number of units limit to try and keep the game moving

Kept to a leader and no more than three units to a force. Else we may struggle to keep it going with so many hunters about.

Balgins' lists

Quote:
Dwarven Hunting Party
Marek Ullson - Dwarven Hunter, eye of Ungrvil Way
Level 1 (+1L, +1RS)
Ranger's Apprentice
Hermit
Axe
Crossbow
Light Armour 70

3 Pathfinders 75

3 Pathfinders 75

2 Veterans (Axe, shield, Karamitaz Armour) 80

= 300 exactly (I think).

Huntas of da Savidge Plains!
Nuk Chak, Org 'kish hunta hero, Child of the Wilds Way
Level 1 (+1L, +1RS)
Huntaspear
Launcher
Fearless
Light Armour
Level 2 (+1A)
Scout Master 9
Huntaspear 75

3 Brutes with spiky clubs 57
3 Brutes with spiky clubs 57
2 Wak Wak Huntas (hunta spears) 52
2 Wak Wak Huntas (hunta spears) 52

293 (I couldn't squeeze the extra 7 points in without giving the hero or the hunters extra experience and taking the spiky clubs away wouldn't let me get another brute in there).

Liddi Hunting Pack
Saldur, Lidd Makat'sher, Har Graemi Way
Level 1 (+1L, +1Cs, +1Rx)
Veiled Hunter
Trance
Bestial Fighting Style 75

2 Maka'ei 100

2 Youngbloods with bone spears and bolas 64
2 Youngbloods with bone spears 52
291

My lists are

Quote:
Dwarf force (spent 290 out of 300 points) [9 models]

Hero

Follower of Guardian of the Northern Paths and is wearing heavy armour, wields a great axe, is fearless and has + 1” movement and + 1 combat skill = 58 points.

In his hunting party is a unit of 2 veterans also wielding great axes (useful for trees as well as butchery), and also wearing heavy armour because it is a hunting party rather than a war party. There are also 2 units each of 3 pathfinders on scouting and shooting duties.

Org’kka force (300 points) [11 models]

Hero believes in being the ‘First to Fight’

He has taken ‘thump’ and ‘you are what you eat’ together with 2 clubbas, a crude spear, light armour and though training and diet has gained double slash and +1 Po = 74 points.

His scavenging party consists of 4 Bruta with hakkas, 3 huntas with hunta spear and 3 more huntas with crude spears.

Liddi Force (299 out of 300 points) [9 models]

Hero is a debutant of the Pack leader way

He has pack communication, +1 combat skill, trance and bestial fighting style

There is one Maka’el to add some muscle to the foraging party of 7 youngbloods, 4 with boluses and 3 more with their daggers to skin the prey.

Other rules and what not

For this game I brought a tub of 32 assorted farm animals to use as deer and will also be putting onto the table the Wak-Wak family of mum, dad and baby.

Adult Wak-Wak use the stats from the main rule book and are worth 100 VPs + 20 VPs for damage dealt to it by the warband members – page 26 and the baby has the same stats as the ‘stags’ but with L=3.

From the [url=forum.dwarftales.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=169]last write up[/url]the stats for the does and stags is :-

Deer stats -> M = 3 CS = 4 for stags and 2 for does PO = 4 DS = 6 [lowest in the game?] RE = 8 Rx = 6 Deer do not have any movement penalties.

Special Rules (slightly changed from the last time)

Each player takes it in turns to place a deer (maximum 32 deer worth 50 VPs) onto the table after all deployment, starting no closer than 6" to any players models.

Deer movement is a random flee move (only once per round) when any hunters try to contact or get within 3" of them. This move is made in response to the hunter moves but uses M + D5 for the distance moved. After all movement has been completed any unmoved herds will randomly move D2 to go to fresh grazing, both use the arrow shape of the D10 for direction. If the deer are in unit cohesion (2") then roll one die for the herd. If the deer move into BTB of any hunters, a fight ensues as normal using Rx, deer fight and as per the main rules.

If a deer is still engaged at the start of the next round it will attempt a withdraw move before any troops are moved – this counts as movement for the turn and there is no +2 bonus for fleeing models against deer.

Each deer has 2L and whom ever kills the deer gets the VP. If a deer is shot dead the model is turned onto its side and whom ever stand over an uncontested carcass at the end of the round gets the VP.

All other VP rules apply as normal including a boast each - so killing the enemy, including other warriors from your own race, and destroying units, fulfilling boasts and swaggers is still a good idea.

At turn 0

The following points are earnt

Balgin Dwarf band 300 points
Balgin Org’kka band 293 points
Balgin Liddi band 291 points
Chillatbmth Dwarf band 290 points
Chillatbmth Org’kka band 300 points
Chillatbmth Liddi band 299 points
Animals of the forest 1850 points

Well the game was played and much fun was had by all. We ended up with four players and eventualy the Lidds turned on each other (Chill's leader rushing up to steal my kill on the wak wak and then he attacked my warband so his leader went down pretty quickly, surrounded by both my maka's and my leader). We're still not entirely sure who's won but we totted up victory points at the end of every turn. We simply didn't add them all up at the end yet.

There was still game on the table until round 8 - when the Dwarves finished off the last item.

Drawf tactics were shoot then advance and bag whereas everyone else went forward and hoped to catch something. Again the animals of the forset failed to kill anyone although a few were carrying wounds.

Note to self need to review the Po of animals, maybe add 2 to it.

Round by round scores

Turn 1 - nothing the game kept on grazing.
Turn 2 - Drawf=0, Org'kka=1 Balgin [liddi] = 1 Chill [Liddi] = 0
Turn 3 - D=2, O=4 Balgin = 3 Chill = 1
Turn 4 - D=5, O=4 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 4 Chill = 3 + Wak Wak {stolen from B}
Turn 5 - D=7, O=5 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 4 Chill = 3 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a
Turn 6 - D=8, O=8 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 6 and rival Liddi leader Chill = 5 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a

Turn 7 - D=10, O=9 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 6 + Wak Wak and rival Liddi leader and youngblood Chill = 5 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a

Turn 8 - D=11, O=9 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 6 and rival Liddi leader, youngblood and Mak'a Chill = 5 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a

Turn 9 - D=11, O=9 + Baby Wak Wak Balgin = 6 and rival Liddi leader + 2 youngbloods Chill = 5 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a

Turn 10 - D=11 + 2 Hunta and 1 Bruta, O=9 + Baby Wak Wak + youngblood and Drawf leader Balgin = 6 and rival Liddi leader+ 3 youngbloods Chill = 5 + Wak Wak {stolen from B} & 2 youngbloods and a Mak'a

Drawves scored approx 620 points
Org'kka scored approx 775 points
Balgin [Liddi] scored approx 670 points
Chill [liddi] scored approx 540 points

So the winner is the Org'kka

Whom shall have the biggest roasting pits complete with a stumply head on a totem pole.
